Shantaram sham

Would the publisher who is going to re-publish the bestseller Shantaram please stand up? The paperback edition of the novel is no longer available from its original publisher, Scribe, due to labyrinthine legal issues, but I hear it may still emanate from the same warehouse. However, no-one yet seems to be willing to go on the record and admit they are Gregory David Roberts’ new publisher. Why, I wonder.

Yes, I wonder why? Right now it's running down to the hardcovers. I would've thought sorting out supply would've been a priority since it is a consistently strong seller. Lots of average folk are still under the impression it's a biography - or at least a memoir. It's a misconception much like that surrounding Memoirs of a Geisha a few years back.

Not much use but:

One of those 'all books $5'-type shops on Chapel St in Melbourne was selling it for $5 a pop towards the end of last year (when I picked up my belated copy)... however, the entire shop appears to have disappeared between then and now.
